Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award
2026 Honoree
Stephanie Mehta
CEO & Chief Content Officer · Mansueto Ventures
A career that moved from telling the story of business to leading the business itself.

The Lifetime Achievement Award
The Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a leader whose career has left a lasting mark on the industry through the organizations she helped build, the ideas she advanced and the leaders she influenced along the way. For the inaugural honor, The Revenue Room™ wanted to recognize something particularly important to our industry: a business leader who came through content.
Stephanie Mehta has spent her career helping executives, entrepreneurs and readers understand how businesses change. Over time, she moved from reporting on that change to leading it.
Why Stephanie Mehta was selected
Where journalism meets enterprise leadership.
Mehta's career sits at the intersection of journalism, innovation, entrepreneurship and enterprise leadership. She began as a business reporter. She went on to hold senior editorial roles at some of the most influential business and media organizations in the world. She then became editor-in-chief of Fast Company, where she led the brand's print, digital and live journalism. Today, she is CEO and Chief Content Officer of Mansueto Ventures, parent company of Fast Company and Inc.
That trajectory matters. Mehta has demonstrated that the skills developed in content leadership (curiosity, judgment, audience understanding, pattern recognition, storytelling and the ability to make complicated ideas understandable) can become powerful tools of enterprise leadership.
Throughout her career, she has helped business leaders understand innovation beyond the big idea. Her work has consistently explored the strategy, process, culture and organizational change required to turn innovation into something real. It is a body of work that has shaped the conversation around business while also helping build the platforms where that conversation takes place.
The 2026 Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes both sides of that contribution.
From editor to enterprise leader
Editorial judgment is a leadership skill.
There is a tendency in media to treat editorial leadership and business leadership as separate tracks. Mehta's career challenges that assumption.
Editorial judgment requires understanding audiences, detecting important shifts before they become obvious, making choices about where to invest attention and translating complexity into something useful. Those are also leadership skills.
As CEO and Chief Content Officer of Mansueto Ventures, Mehta brings those disciplines together. She leads a company whose brands serve different but complementary audiences: Fast Company, focused on innovation, creativity, design and the future of business, and Inc., focused on entrepreneurs and company builders.
The company's products now extend well beyond magazines and websites into conferences, award programs, communities, video, newsletters and other live and digital experiences.
Building experiences around powerful editorial brands
Live platforms. Lasting franchises.
One of the clearest expressions of Mansueto Ventures' strategy has been the expansion of its live platforms.
Fast Company Innovation Festival
The 2026 Fast Company Innovation Festival marked its 12th year in New York. The four-day program brought together executives, creators, investors and entrepreneurs across mainstage programming, workshops, Fast Tracks and immersive experiences.
Mansueto Ventures reported a record number of sponsors in 2026, including the festival's first title partner, Capital One Business.
Most Innovative Companies Summit & Gala
Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies Summit & Gala has evolved from a virtual-panel series started in 2021 into a major live celebration of one of the brand's most important editorial franchises. More than 700 guests attended the 2026 cocktail reception and gala.
Inc. 5000
Inc.'s flagship Inc. 5000 franchise continues to expand as both an editorial and live platform. The 2026 Inc. 5000 recognized companies that collectively generated more than $385 billion in revenue and more than 627,000 jobs, with its annual conference and gala scheduled for Dallas in October.
Keeping editorial brands relevant
Recent work across Mansueto Ventures shows how legacy business-media brands can continue to create cultural and commercial relevance. In September 2026, Fast Company's Innovation Festival brought together leaders from business, culture, technology and creativity while generating record sponsorship performance. Inc., meanwhile, generated attention with its New Media Power Rankings and relaunched The Way I Work, a multimedia franchise examining how prominent founders and leaders actually operate.
Mehta herself continues to participate directly in the editorial conversation through Modern CEO, her leadership newsletter, and through interviews and live conversations with senior executives.

The Lifetime Achievement case
Stephanie Mehta's career is not defined by one company, one launch or one title. It is defined by a consistent ability to understand where business is going and help others understand it too.
- She has reported on leaders.
- She has edited their stories.
- She has built editorial franchises around them.
- She has created forums that bring them together.
And ultimately, she became one of them.
Her career demonstrates that great content leadership can be a path to enterprise leadership and that editorial judgment, when combined with commercial understanding and product thinking, can help build enduring businesses.
That is why Stephanie Mehta is the inaugural recipient of The Revenue Room™ Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award.
